Foresters Close Out 2023 at NCAA Regional

The Lake Forest College cross country team competed at the NCAA Regional Meet hosted by Wartburg College on Saturday and 12 of the 14 Foresters in action recorded their best times of the season.

The men's 8-kilometer race was first and Lake Forest was led by junior Bart Brophy, whose time of 27:59.5 was the program's best since the 2021 NCAA Regional Meet. Sophomore Patrick Cadiz and freshman Austin Hewes were next on the team at 30:03.2 and 30:33.0, respectively.

Freshman Lettia Hoda led the Foresters and placed 59th out of 214 finishers in the women's 6-kilometer race with a time of 23:35.2. Classmate Sophie Graham was 95th in 24:28.3 and junior Delfina Jorgensen finished third on the squad with a time of 25:43.6.

It was the final career meet for seniors Becca Ray and Richie Czajka.

The Lake Forest men placed 31st as a team while the women were 20th. Wartburg was second to North Central College on the men's side and edged out the University of Chicago for the women's regional title.
