Box Score The Midwest Conference announced its 2023 All-MWC Volleyball Teams Friday evening and a pair of Forester senior outside hitters were among the honorees. The announcement was made between the semifinal matches of the MWC Tournament at Cornell College.

Grace Franz was named First Team All-MWC after ranking third in the conference with 16 aces and tied-for-fourth with 95 kills during league play, despite missing one of those eight matches. Overall, she led Lake Forest in kills and digs this fall and reached double figures in both categories in 10 matches, including five of her seven MWC appearances.

Mary Gegen is now a three-time All-MWC honoree after being named to the second team in 2023. Her 91 kills during league matches were the sixth-highest total in the conference. Gegen led the team in blocks, ranked second in kills and digs, and recorded nine doubles-doubles, including three in MWC contests.

Lake Forest has now had at least one player listed among the league's best in each of the last 30 full seasons and more than one 22 times during that span.

The Foresters finished third in the MWC standings this year at 6-2 in league play and they entered today's MWC Tournament semifinal against Illinois College with an overall record of 17-7.
