The Lake Forest College women's cross country team placed 16th and the men 27th at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse's Jim Drews/Toi Neubauer Invitational on Saturday.
The men's 8-kilometer race was first and the Foresters were led by freshman
Austin Hewes, who completed the course in 31:17.3. Classmate
Sam Smith was next on the squad at 31:55.7.
A pair of freshman led the Lake Forest women's team as well.
Lettia Hoda's time of 24:14.6 as good for 43rd place in the 298-runner field while
Sophie Graham was 65th in 24:32.6.
La Crosse won both team competitions with Paradise Valley Community College placing second in the men's race and St. Olaf College in the women's.
The Foresters, who have been competing every other weekend this season, will be in action next at the Midwest Conference Championship Meet in at Grinnell College on Saturday, October 28.
