On Tuesday, volleyball's Grace Franz and football's Trevor Land were named Forester Athletes of the Week.

Franz posted a .347 hitting percentage while helping lead Lake Forest to three victories last week. The senior pounded out 16 kills and added 14 digs in just three sets in Tuesday night's victory over Alverno College. She added 16 more kills over the weekend as the Foresters prevailed in three over Marian University Friday night and Beloit College on Saturday. Franz also had 27 digs, five aces, and a pair of blocks on the week.

Land broke two individual records for the Foresters. The junior set the record for longest offensive play in program when he took a short slant pass from quarterback Josh Gasca and sprinted 99 yards for a touchdown. He also averaged 52.6 yards per catch which broke the single game record (min 3 catches) that was set in 2013 by over 12 yards per catch. Land added a 19-yard rushing touchdown as the Foresters dominated Lawrence and broke the school record for yards in a single game and yards per play in a single game. 

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff on Tuesdays. Franz was named Forester Athlete of the Week previously this season on September 5. This is the first time Land has earned the distinction.
