The Forester men's hockey team was edged out 2-1 at Aurora University on Sunday in non-conference play.

Lake Forest took the early lead on junior defenseman Brendan Coughlin's first goal of the season. Senior forward Josh Giacomin and sophomore forward Ben Perkins assisted on the score at the 4:11 mark of the opening period.

The Spartans tied the game on a power play goal with 4:16 to play in the first and scored what proved to be the game-winner midway through the third.

Forester junior goaltender Nick Wiencek made a career-high 41 saves on the day.

The loss was Lake Forest's first in three games for far this season. Aurora improved to 4-0-0.

The Foresters will begin Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play against Milwaukee School of Engineering next weekend. The teams will face off in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Friday night at 7:00 and in Milwaukee at the same time on Saturday.
