Foresters Finish Off Sweep of Finlandia

Box Score

Freshman defenseman Zach Feldman scored a pair of goals and was +4 on the evening as the Lake Forest College men's hockey team won 7-1 at Finlandia University on Saturday.

Feldman was one of three Foresters with three points in the game, joining senior forward Justin Pelock and sophomore defenseman Ryan Kruss.

Pelock started the scoring at the 3:55 mark of the opening period with his second goal of the season. Kruss and senior defenseman Travis Hill assisted on the team's first of three power play scores in the game. Kruss and Pelock helped convert another man-advantage opportunity two-and-a-half minutes later by assisting junior forward Billy Kent's sixth goal of the year. Coming off his first career hat trick on Friday, sophomore forward Bron Loiselle netted his fourth goal of the series and 13th of the season with 2:41 remaining in the period. He was assisted by senior forward Jack Lewis and sophomore forward Cody Guidorzi.

Finlandia scored its only goal of the day while on the power play a minute and 54 seconds into the second period. The Foresters regained their three-goal advantage at the 10:36 mark when sophomore forward Vito Aluia lit the lamp for the first time this season. He was assisted by senior forward Jimmy Cusan and senior defenseman Mark Esshaki. Feldman then added his first score of the game at 13:58 with Kruss and freshman forward Tyler O'Neill assisting. It was the first career point for O'Neill.

Senior forward Anthony Annunziato added to the Foresters' lead at the 14:24 mark of the third period. Kruss earned his third assist of the contest and Feldman also set up the sixth goal of the year for Annunziato. Feldman then closed out the scoring with a power play goal with 1:31 on the clock. His fifth score this season was assisted by sophomore forward Drew Cleereman and sophomore goaltender George Argiropoulos. It was the first assist by a Lake Forest goalie since senior Billy Cooper's helper against Finlandia on February 12, 2016.

Argiropoulos made a dozen saves in the final period and 23 in the game. He is now 7-6-0 with a .901 save percentage on the year.

Lake Forest improved to 14-9-0 overall and 10-8-0 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. It was the season final for the Lions, who finished 0-25-0 overall and 0-20-0 in the league.

The Foresters will close out the regular season with a home-and-home series against Lawrence Universty next weekend. The teams will face off Friday night at 7:00 in Appleton, Wisconsin, and at the same time on Saturday in Lake Forest.
