The Lake Forest College men's soccer team defeated visiting
Concordia University Chicago Tuesday evening and is now 2-2-0 on
the season. After assisting on the game's opening goal, freshman
Mahir Mameledzija scored for the first time in his career in the
54th minute and netted another goal four minutes later.
The only goal of the first half was scored by Forester junior
Jerrold Rosema at 25:47. Mameledzija's assist on the play was his
second of the season.
Mameledzija's first score extended the lead to 2-0 at 53:21 and
was assisted by freshman Jordon Hartman. Freshman Steven Johnson
assisted Mameledzija's second goal at 57:41 to make it
3-0.
Concordia Chicago's only goal of the game came on a free kick at
65:23.
Lake Forest senior Tom Biesiada recorded one save in nearly 73
minutes of play and earned the victory. Freshman Melvin Flores held
the cougars scoreless for the final 17:15.
The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday at
Lawrence University. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30
p.m.
