The Forester men's hockey team was unable to upset 12th-ranked
Adrian College Saturday (February 6), falling to the Bulldogs 8-3.
Lake Forest is now 7-12-1 overall this season and 7-8-1 in Midwest
Collegiate Hockey Association play. Adrian raised its overall
record to 18-3-0 and MCHA mark to a perfect 16-0-0.
The visitors took the early lead on a power play goal three minutes
and 47 seconds into the contest. The Foresters, however, tied the
game at the 5:29 mark on junior Anthony Ventura's (Pleasant
Prairie, Wis./Lebanon Valley College) second goal of the season. He
was assisted by senior Sean Farley (Park Ridge, Ill./Utica College)
and freshman Zak Borowski (Gloucester, Ma./Granite City
Lumberjacks). Adrian regained the lead at 9:16 and extended it at
12:14. Lake Forest pulled back to within a goal at 14:51 on
freshman Justin Crawford's (Cobourg, Ontario/Peterborough Stars)
first career goal. Senior Justin Taylor (Sun Valley, Idaho/Walpole
Stars) and freshman Thomas Bark (Toronto, Ontario/Streetsville
Derbys) were each credited with an assist.
After an exciting first period, the Bulldogs pulled away with goals
at 9:21 and 13:46 in the second period. The visitors also scored at
the 3:43 mark of the third period and added a short-handed goal at
the 7:06 mark.
Forester freshman Jordan Culter (Highland Park, Ill./Lebanon Valley
College) scored for the second time this season at 10:34 in the
third period. He was assisted by Farley and Ventura. Adrian closed
out the scoring with a power play goal at 12:16.
The Bulldogs finished the game with 39 shots on goal, eight more
than the Foresters.
The Foresters will play a home-and-home series against Milwaukee
School of Engineering next Friday and Saturday (February 12-13). A
