The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 8-1 by
host St. Norbert College Tuesday night (October 27) in the season
opener for both teams.
The Green Knights started the scoring with a power play goal at the
5:42 mark of the opening period and doubles their lead at 12:41.
Lake Forest pulled back to within a goal at the 14:12 mark when
freshman Thomas Bark (Toronto, Ontario/Streetsville Derbys) got
control of the puck behind the St. Norbert net and fed classmate
Trent Brown (Ayr, Ontario/Elmira Sugar Kings) in front of the goal.
Brown lit the lamp for his first career goal.
The home team regained the two-goal advantage just 18 seconds into
the second period and added a score at 10:09. The score remained
4-1 in favor of St. Norbert going into the third.
Three Green Knights goals in the first seven minutes of the final
period put the game out of reach and another with a minute
remaining in the contest closed out the scoring.
Lake Forest will open Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play
next weekend (November 6-7) at Finlandia University. The teams will
play Friday night at 7:14 (EST) and Saturday afternoon at 4:00.
