Russell Scott was named Lake Forest College Deputy Athletic Director in the summer on 2025. His focus is on mentoring young head coaches, developing a leadership curriculum for student athletes, overseeing an organization made up of elected team captains, and coordinating programming and collaboration with various other departments on campus.
Before coming to Lake Forest, Scott was a teacher, coach, and speaker in Chandler, Arizona, for more than two decades. He served as an assistant coach for the football and track and field teams at Chandler High School from 2001 to 2022 and completed 19 years as a special education teacher at the same school. He also did character development speaking at all six high schools in the district.
In addition to his role in education, Scott is the president and owner of True Indeed LLC, which provides motivational speaking and consulting services. Through the company he works with various schools, teams, and organizations and has been a speaker at places all over the country, including Lake Forest College and Duke University.
Scott is a graduate of Southern Utah University, where he majored in sociology and minored in physical education with a coaching emphasis.
