"Graduating from a Division I school, I love how a Division III program feels more like a family. It’s not just about volleyball, it’s about coaches and professors supporting one another. Also, many of the sports team support each other. I love the comradery among the athletes."
- Assistant Volleyball Coach Jamie Buhnerkemper

The 2015 season will be the third as a member of the Forester staff for Jamie Buhnerkemper, who has coached at the club and high school level since 2007. She assists the head coach in all aspects of the program.

Lake Forest is 13-7 in Midwest Conference matches during Buenerkemper's first two years with the program. The 2014 Foresters won 11 of their final 15 regular season matches and advanced to the four-team MWC Tournament. Sophomore Brittany Avonts earned First Team All-MWC honors while classmate Paige Jespersen was a Second Team selection.

Buhnerkemper served as the freshman girls volleyball coach at Glenbard South High School for six years. Her teams won several tournament championships and claimed the Western Sun Freshman Conference title in 2009.

She has also been a head coach and instructor for Illinois Performance Volleyball since 2007 and has worked with players as various levels, including many that went on to play in college.

Buhnerkemper (then Nelson) graduated from Western Illinois University, where she played for and coached the club volleyball team. She was also a four-sport athlete at Glenbard South.
