The 2024-25 season was the first for Helena Blumenau as an assistant coach at her alma mater.
The Lake Forest men and women placed third at the 2025 Midwest Conference Championship Meet and combined for a dual meet record of 14-8. Members of the team won six events at the conference meet, broke school records in nine different events over the course of the season, and made 17 additional updates to the program's list of the top five performers in each event.
Blumenau swam for three years at the College and was the Foresters' Most Valuable Performer as a senior in 2022-23. She claimed back-to-back conference titles in the 200-backstroke and 800-freestyle relay as a junior and senior and was twice named MWC Performer of the Week.
A successful student as well, Blumenau majored in neuroscience and was named a Second Team Individual Scholar All-American by College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
In addition to coaching, Blumenau is a biostatistician for the University of Iowa.
