Swimmers Isabella Rozenbergas and Matthew Strada were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for their performance at the 2026 Midwest Conference Championship Meet at Grinnell College over the weekend.
Rozenbergas repeated as MWC Swimmer of the Year by winning all three of her individual events and helping three Lake Forest relay teams capture conference titles as well. The sophomore anchored the victorious 800-freestyle relay team Thursday night, set a meet record in the 200-IM and finished off a win in the 200-freestyle relay on Friday, touched the wall first in the 100-butterfly on Saturday, and broke the league record in the 200-butterfly before closing out a triumph in the 400-freestyle relay on Sunday.
All three of Rozenbergas' individual event times were NCAA B-cuts and she now owns qualifying marks in four events this season. Three of those mark are significantly faster than times of invitees to the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships so she is likely to be in the field at this year's national meet.
Strada, another sophomore, was the runner-up in Friday's 200-IM before claiming victories in the 400-IM on Saturday and the 1650-freestyle on Sunday. He also helped Lake Forest place third in the 800-freestyle, 200-medley, 400-medley, and 400-freestyle relays.
Strada's times in both individual medleys rank him among the top three in program history in those events and he was already fourth in team annals in the 1650-freestyle. He is the first Lake Forest male since 2000 to win conference titles in multiple events.
Tuesday's Forester Athlete of the Week awards were the third of the season for both swimmers. Rozenbergas also earned the award three times and Strada once in 2024-25.
