Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Steve Bourbon

Strong Bench Production Not Enough for Foresters

The Lake Forest women's basketball team leaned on its bench for the second game in a row, however, it was not enough to pull out the victory Saturday afternoon. The Foresters dropped a 89-53 decision to Knox College in Galesburg, Ill.

Senior Jamie Springstead led the way offensively for Lake Forest (2-14, 0-7 MWC). The guard from Bradenton, Fla., scored 16 points and secured seven rebounds. It was the most points Springstead has scored in a game since putting up 19 points on Nov. 25, 2025, against Concordia Chicago.

Careah Baitlon was the other Forester in double figures, scoring 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting. The junior guard made three of her six attempts from behind the three-point line. The three made three-pointers marked a season high for Baitlon and was the most triples made in a game for her since Baitlon went 5-of-10 from three-point range against Cornell College last season on Jan. 11, 2025.

It was a breakout game for freshman forward Izabella Zamora. After scoring just two total points in her first 11 collegiate games, Zamora added nine points and four rebounds Saturday. Fellow freshman Meadow Rosendahl also set a new career high with seven points.

The Foresters shot 36 percent from the field for the game and made 6-of-19 from the three-point line. Lake Forest sunk 11-of-17 (64.7 percent) free-throw attempts.

Lake Forest dominated Knox in points from the bench, as Foresters reserves outscored Prairie Fire's bench, 45-19.

The Foresters will host the Fighting Scots of Monmouth College for their next game. That contest will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Sports and Recreation Center.
