The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Thursday the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men's basketball teams and student-athletes.
Lake Forest was one of nearly 400 programs to earn NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards in 2024-25. In addition, among the more than 2,400 players listed on the NABC Honors Court were Forester junior Alex Brown and seniors Alex Knight and Michael Michaud.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Brown is majoring in economics with an emphasis in finance and Michaud recently graduated with a degree in the same field. Knight's degree was in finance.
The NABC's academic awards include honorees from all levels of college basketball.
