Lacrosse players Chas Dean and Abby Meyer were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Dean scored a pair of goals last Wednesday in Lake Forest's 12-9 loss at Aurora University in the semifinals of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. The first put his team on top 3-1 in the opening period and the second trimmed the Spartans' third quarter lead to one at 8-7.

A senior midfielder, Dean finished his four years at the College ranked fourth in program history with 76 career goals, fifth with 108 points, seventh with 32 assists, and tied-for-ninth with 98 ground balls.

Meyer was named the NACC Tournament MVP after recording hat tricks in the Foresters' 15-6 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering and 21-7 triumph over Edgewood College last week. In addition, she finished Wednesday's semifinal with two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls before picking up two more ground balls and leading the team with four caused turnovers and six draw controls in Saturday's final.

The senior midfielder ranks among the top four in team history with 106 ground balls, 72 caused turnovers, and 135 draw controls in her career.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff on Tuesdays. Meyer also earned the award on April 22 and once as a freshman in lacrosse, as well as once during the 2023-24 hockey season.
