The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team played its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game Wednesday night, defeating host Milwaukee School of Engineering 19-1.
Single-game school records were tied by Foresters at both ends of the field. Senior
Jenna Doctor matched her own mark with eight goals while the team's 23 caused turnovers were the same as their record output at the College of Saint Benedict last May. The 18-goal margin of victory is tied for the third-largest mark in team annals.
Doctor also assisted on a goal and her nine points are the sixth-highest total in program history. Junior
Emma Sharpe was next on the squad with six points on three goals and three assists and senior
Ashley Carr's two goals and two assists gave her a career-high-tying four points. Two-goal performances were also turned in by senior
Abby Meyer, junior
Daulath Khan, and sophomore
Eva Russell.
Sophomore
Ella Maher led the visitors with four ground balls and four caused turnovers and she tied senior
Krissy Kuwahara for the team lead with four draw controls. Kuwahara had three ground balls and is now the program's all-time leader with 146 in her career.
Goalkeeping duties for Lake Forest were split by freshman
Cy Nash and senior
Calliope Saban. Nash started and was credited with her first collegiate victory and Saban made the team's only save of the game.
Lake Forest is now 4-3 and MSOE 0-7 on the season.
The Foresters will continue conference play against visiting Marian University Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
