The Lake Forest College women's hockey team had its four-game winning streak come to an end Friday night at St. Norbert College, where the 11th-ranked team in the nation came out on top 8-3.
The visitors took the early lead at the 3:45 mark of the opening period on senior forward
Anna McCluskey's fourth score of the season.
Unfortunately for the Foresters, St. Norbert tied the game later in the first and scored twice early in the second.
Lake Forest closed back to within one at 8:28 in the second on sophomore
Jasmine Kohl's fifth of the year. Freshman forward
Lily Anderson and senior defenseman
Sophia Chapman set up Kohl and each was credited with a pair of assists on the evening.
The Green Knights accounted for the game's next four goals, a streak stopped at 7:22 in the third period by Forester senior defenseman
Abby Meyer's fifth of the season.
One final tally from the home team less than a minute-and-a-half later closed out the scoring. The Green Knights had a 24-11 advantage in shots on goal in the contest.
Lake Forest fell to 10-9-3 overall and 6-6-3 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while St. Norbert improved to 17-4-1 overall and 13-1-1 in the league.
The same two teams will face off again at St. Norbert Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
