The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Carleton College on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Lake Forest served as one of 16 regional hosts after finishing the regular season as the only team in the country without a loss or tie. The Foresters reached the second round by defeating Spalding University 4-0 on Saturday while Carleton came out on top of a 1-0 decision with John Carroll University.
Sunday's first half was scoreless with Lake Forest owning a slight 3-2 advantage in shots and recording the only two shots on goal in the period. Carleton had a slight edge in possession at 51 percent.
Carleton out-shot the Foresters 5-2 in the second half and pulled ahead just five minutes into the period. The Knights added to their lead at the 64:39 mark and their goalie saved the home team's only shot on goal the rest of the way.
With a final record of 21-1-0, Lake Forest matched the 2014 Foresters for the best record in program history. That team also reached round two of the NCAA Tournament. The 2025 squad set school records by scoring 3.91 goals per game and allowing just .59 per contest.

Greta Norville are in the top 10 for victories and shutouts.Along with fellow seniors
Lauren Covarrubias,
Caitlin Mulcahy, and
Theresa Presberg, they have helped lead the Foresters to an overall record of 57-13-11, a mark fof 29-1-2 in Midwest Conference play, three league titles, and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in the last four years.
