The Lake Forest College swimming and diving teams prevailed over Ripon College and host Beloit College in a season-opening double dual meet on Saturday.
The Foresters won 20 of the meet's 26 events and all four relays. They outscored Ripon 150-46 and Beloit 154-51 on the women's side while the men defeated the Red Hawks 168-27 and the Buccaneers 157-54.
After the 200-medley relay, the first individual event of the day was swept by a pair of Lake Forest freshman with
Vanya Canak taking the men's race and
Lucy Bolling the women's. Two seniors were next with
Demetri Zemenides and
Amelie Andres prevailing in the 200-freestyle. The 50-freestyle then went to senior
Alexander Wilson and sophomore
Isabella Rozenbergas to finish off a meet-opening run of eight straight Forester wins.
Additional sweeps came from senior
Andrew Lee and Rozenbergas in the 100-butterfly, junior
Gavin Biccum and Andres in the 500-freestyle, and sophomore
Matthew Strada and junior
Audrey Kilmer in the 100-breaststroke.
Kilmer added a triumph in the women's 200-IM, senior
Valeria Welk in the women's 100-backstroke, junior
Cameron Schlosser in the men's 100-backstroke, and sophomore
Jacob Jackson in men's 3-meter diving.
Lake Forest will compete in another double dual next Saturday at Carthage College. Milwaukee School of Engineering, which is now a fellow member of the Midwest Conference, will be the other opponent.
