The Forester swimming and diving teams competed with Illinois Institute of Technology in a double dual at Lewis University on Saturday. Both Lake Forest teams fell to the hosts (women 122-79, men 147-58) while the women came out on top 135-54 and the men were edged out 105-99 against Illinois Tech.
The Lake Forest women finished first in four events with freshman
Isabella Rozenbergas and sophomore
Audrey Kilmer involved in each of them. Rozenbergas prevailed in the 50-freestyle with a time of 24.80 seconds and 100-butterfly in 58.50. Kilmer touched the wall first in the 200-IM, where her time of 2:15.86 put her nearly two seconds ahead of the runner-up. Rozenbergas and Kilmer also swan the second and third legs, respectively, of the 200-freestyle relay, which Lake Forest won by more than a second. Senior
Sylvie Paddon-Jones led off the relay and junior
Valeria Welk anchored it.
Kilmer also accounted for one of the Foresters' four second-place finishes with her time of 2:01.30 in the 200-freestyle.
Lake Forest had the runner-up in both 1000-freestyle races with junior
Amelie Andres posting a time of 11:13.15 in the women's race and freshman
Matthew Strada completing the men's in 10:05.46.
Senior
Noah McAdam was also second in the men's 100-freestyle, which he finished in 48.18 seconds.
The Forester women are now 2-2 in dual meets and the men 1-3 on the young season.
Lake Forest will travel to Lawrence University for the Gene Davis Invitational next Saturday.
