The Lake Forest men's swimming and diving captured its first victory of the season while the women finished second overall at the Gene Davis Invite hosted by Lawrence University on Saturday.
The men started their meet with a big win in the 200-medley relay. Junior
Noah McAdam, sophomore
Andrew Lee, junior
Ben Jacob, and sophomore
Alexander Wilson combined to finish first, beating the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh relay over two seconds.
Lee went on to win three more events of the Foresters, including the 400-IM and 200-breaststroke. He was joined by McAdam, Wilson, and sophomore
Demetri Zemenides to finish the meet with another victory in the 400-freestyle relay. McAdam, along with the two relays, also won both backstroke events, and Jacob placed first in the 200-freestyle and 200-butterfly.Â
Freshman
Audrey Kilmer led the way on the women's side of the meet with three wins. She made it a sweep for the Foresters in the 400-IM, an event she won by 20 seconds, and she also placed first in the 200-IM. At the end of the meet, she teamed up with sophomore
Valeria Welk and
Amelie Andres and fellow first year
Izabella Harju to win the 400-freestyle relay.
Andres also posted two individual wins, placing first in the 100- and 200-breaststrokes.
In the last event of the meet, freshman
Gavin Biccum and senior
Ally McCarthy raced to first place in the men's and women's 1650-freestyles; they both also posted the fastest times in their respective 500-freestyle events.
The Foresters race again at the Carthage Classic, which begins on the evening on November 30.
