The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 8-0 at Saint Mary's University on Saturday.
The Foresters outshot the Cardinals 8-7 in the opening period but still found themselves down a goal after 20 minutes of play.
The home team struck two more times in the second period and broke the game open with five tallies in the third. Saint Mary's finished the contest with a 32-14 advantage in shots.
The loss was the second of the weekend for Lake Forest at Saint Mary's. The Foresters will return home and begin Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play against visiting St. Norbert College next weekend. Friday night's contest is set to start at 7:00 and game two of the series will begin Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
