Nick Simons is in his third season as a member of the Forestercoaching staff. In addition to on-court coaching, he is alsoinvolved with scouting, recruiting, and film exchange.
Lake Forest has posted a 24-23 overall recrd and 21-15 mark inMidwest Conference play with Simons on staff. The Forestersreached the four-team MWC Tournament in 2012 and have earned threeall-conference selections in the last two years.
Simons came to Lake Forest after a season as the Director ofWomen’s Basketball Operations at Gonzaga University inSpokane, Washington. He was also a graduate assistant for theBulldogs each of the last two years. Gonzaga was 60-10 and claimedback-to-back West Coast Conference regular season and tournamenttitles during his time with the team.
He also served as the head coach of an eighth-grade boys team inSpokane, Washington, in 2010-11.
Simons is a 2008 graduate of Lewis Clark State College inLewiston, Idaho, where he earned a bachelor of science degree inkinesiology with an emphasis in sport administration. He alsominored in coaching. In May of 2011 he added a master of artsdegree in sport and athletic administration from Gonzaga.
Simons and his wife Rachelle, a department assistant in theCollege’s Health & Wellness Center, reside in LakeForest.
