Lake Forest College Athletic Trainer Mike Gilboe was recently received the Midwest Conference (MWC) Silver Service Award for his 25 years of service to the league.
On behalf of the MWC, Gilboe was presented with a conference-branded bleacher seat by Lake Forest College Assistant Vice President for Athletics Jim Catanzaro at a staff meeting this spring.
Gilboe took over as the Foresters' athletic trainer in the summer of 2001 and has treated countless student-athletes during his 25-year tenure. He is a member of the National, Great Lakes, and Illinois Athletic Trainers Association and serves as an adjunct professor at the College.
"I can only imagine the number of athletes Mike has helped return to competition after sustaining injuries over the last quarter of a century," commented Catanzaro. "I know I speak on behalf of them, as well as our coaches, in expressing gratitude for his dedication to Lake Forest College Athletics."Â
A native of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Gilboe earned a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University and a master's from Illinois State University.
