Lake Forest College basketball player Alex Forowycz was named Forester Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in his career on Tuesday.

Forowycz helped lead his team to three victories last week, beginning with a 92-87 triumph over North Central College at the Loras Holiday Classic on Monday. The Foresters trailed 62-42 early in the second half before Forowycz scored 20 points in the final 16 minutes of the contest to finish with 22 and lead Lake Forest to the win. The senior wing shot 9-for-15 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range and added five rebounds, three assists, and a steal on the day.

The Foresters defeated the hosts of the event the next day and Forowycz led all players in the game with a season-high 35 points. He connected on 10 of 14 field goal attempts, including six of seven from beyond the arc, and knocked down all nine of his free throws.

Lake Forest resumed Midwest Conference play with a 101-67 rout of Knox College at home on Saturday and Forowycz made five of his six field goal attempts in a 15-point performance. He also dished out three assists and recorded three steals in the game.

After averaging 24 points, shooting 68.6 percent from the field, and making a dozen three-pointers on the week, Forowycz has climbed into 17th place in team history with 1,143 career points and fifth with 183 three-pointers. He is also the program's most accurate free throw shooter at 89.9 percent.

Forowycz was also named Forester Athlete of the Week once as a sophomore and twice last year.
