The Forester swimming and diving team took on Lawrence University and host University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in a double dual meet on Saturday. The Lake Forest women defeated Lawrence 196-58 and Whitewater 166.5-125.5 while the men routed the Vikings 194-51 but dropped a narrow 134-128 decision to the Warhawks.
Senior
Noah McAdam was the top performer for the Forester men, taking the 100-backstroke in 54.12 seconds and the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:58.82 before swimming a leg on Lake Forest's triumph in the 200-freestyle relay.
Sophomore
Audrey Kilmer led the Lake Forest women's double dual sweep with three victories in individual events and another as the anchor in the meet-opening 200-medley relay. She took the 200-freestyle by more than four seconds with a time of 1:59.93 and showed off her versatility in distance by prevailing in the 50-freestyle in 25.18 and the 500-freestyle by more than 15 seconds with a time of 5:20.09.
Like McAdam, junior
Amelie Andres and freshman
Isabella Rozenbergas contributed to three wins on the day. After following freshman
Joss Hoffman and preceding Kilmer during a victorious performance in the 200-medley relay, Andres outswam the competition in the 1000-freestyle (11:20.15) and 200-breaststroke (2:36.13) and Rozenbergas touched the wall first in the 100-freestyle (53.68) and 100-butterfly (58.77).
Sophomore
Gavin Biccum also won both his individual events, finishing the 1000-freestyle with a time of 10:07.82 and the 500-freestyle in 4:58.30.
Additional victories for the Forester women were turned in by senior
Michelle Paddon-Jones in the 200-butterfly (2:10.83), freshman
Sofia Reese in the 200-backstroke (2:18.68), and senior
Sylvie Paddon-Jones in the 400-IM (5:01.93).
Junior
Andrew Lee made it a Lake Forest sweep in the 400-IM, taking the men's race in 4:27.55. The Forester men also closed out the contest with a victory in the 200-freestyle relay, where McAdam was joined by sophomore
Benjamin Scott and juniors
Alexander Wilson and
Demetri Zemenides.
The Lake Forest women improved to 6-3 in dual meets this season while the men are now 4-5.
The Foresters will compete in another dual meet next Saturday at Illinois Institute of Technology with a start time of 1:00 p.m.
