Lake Forest came out on the wrong end of a 25-19, 25-18, 25-16 decision at Cornell College on Saturday.
Set one was tied at 19 before the home team rattled off six straight point to close it out. The Foresters were ahead by three when they reached 18 points in the second but they once again went cold as the Rams took 10 points in a row to finish it off. Cornell outscored the visitors 16-4 to set up match point, which the Foresters fought off three times before the contest finally came to an end.
Lake Forest fell to 6-12 overall and 0-3 in Midwest Conference play this season. The Rams are 11-7 overall and perfect through four league matches.
The Foresters will play their final non-conference match of the regular season Tuesday night at Alverno College. The contest will begin at 7:00 p.m.
