Junior Julie Lord advanced to the round of 32 in singles over the weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament.
Lord won a tiebreaker 7-1 to take the first set in her opening round match before rolling 6-1 in the second. She ended up on the wrong side of a similar score in her next match and was defeated 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
Lake Forest senior Leeza Bodnar and dropped her opening round match before posting a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the consolation bracket's round of 32. She was defeated in the round of 16.
Lord and Bodnar drew the event's #3 seed in doubles and were defeated 8-1. They came back and won twice in the consolation bracket, however, before being eliminated in the semifinals.
The Foresters will resume their Midwest Conference schedule next Sunday against visiting Beloit College. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m.
