The United Soccer Coaches announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday and Lake Forest College's Lucas Geib was the men's NCAA Division III selection.
Geib, a junior forward, started the season with an historic performance in the Foresters' 5-0 victory over visiting Concordia University Chicago. He assisted on the first and last goals of the contest and scored the other three to become the first player in program history with multiple assists while registering a hat trick.
Lake Forest also defeated Westminster University 3-1 on Sunday and Geib accounted for the final tally of the day, all but clinching the victory with less than four minutes to play.
After ranking third on the squad with 18 points in 2017, Geib has 10 already this season. His career total stands at 38 (16 goals, 6 assists) in 39 games.
Geib was also named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week earlier in the day.
The United Soccer Coaches College Players of the Week are announced every Tuesday throughout the fall college regular season on UnitedSoccerCoaches.org.
