Lake Forest College men's basketball player Cristian Rodriguez was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday after leading his team to a pair of victories last week.

Rodriguez led all players with 23 points and eight rebounds in last Wednesday night's 87-74 triumph at Illinois Institute of Technology. The senior forward shot 8-for-12 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free throw line while chipping in with three assists, a blocked shot, and a steal to his stat line.

The Foresters routed visiting Macalester College 99-70 on Saturday and Rodriguez registered his first double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 14 boards. He once again added three assists and a block.

Rodriguez leads the MWC with 20.6 points per game and ranks among the top seven in the league with 8.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per contest, as well as a .556 field goal percentage and .793 free throw percentage on the young season.
