Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

86 Points Not Quite Enough for Foresters at MSOE

The Lake Forest College men's basketball team was defeated 93-86 at Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday.

The Foresters were not quite able to keep up with the high-scoring Raiders, despite impressive three-point shooting performances from senior wings Alex Forowycz and Luke Arington.Forowycz connected on seven of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc and led the team with 25 points while Arington was 6-for-11 from long range and scored 18.

Senior forward Cristian Rodriguez and junior wing Coltrane Marchand also reached double figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively, and they combined to shoot 11-for-17 from the field. Marchand also matched Forowycz for the team lead with four assists and sophomore guard Marko Visnjevac with a team-high five rebounds.

Lake Forest shot a season-high 50.8 percent from the field and were even better from three-point range, tying the fourth-highest total in team history with 16 makes in 31 attempts (51.6%). MSOE, however, shot 55.9 percent from the field, outscored the visitors 18-4 from the free throw line, and had a 35-28 edge in rebounds.

Neither team was ahead by more than five points in the first half and the lead changed hands 19 times in the game's first 20 minutes. MSOE took a 44-43 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Raiders also opened the second half with a 10-2 run and led the rest of the way. Forowycz baskets trimmed the margin to two on three separate occasions but the home team eventually pulled away and extended the lead to as many as 14 points. The Foresters pulled back to within four points three times in the final two minutes but could not complete the comeback.

Lake Forest is now 0-3 and MSOE 1-1 on the season.

The Foresters will play at Illinois Institute of Technology Wednesday night at 7:00.
