The 62-team field for the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament was announced Monday afternoon and Lake Forest College was among the 20 at-large selections.
The Foresters are 29-11 this season and claimed their fourth Midwest Conference title in the last five years with a 17-1 record in league play. However, the team was unable to capture its fourth MWC Tournament title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tourney during that same span and had to wait for Monday's announcement to learn if the 2018 season would continue.
Luther College (35-8) will be the Foresters' opening round opponent on Friday and will also serve as the host of the four-team regional. The College of St. Benedict (34-8) and fellow MWC member Cornell College (26-19) are the other two teams in the three-day, double-elimination event.
