Lake Forest College men's basketball player Danny Sotos was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance in the team's three victories in the last seven days.
Sotos, a junior forward, finished with a total of 27 points and 13 rebounds in the Foresters' two victories at the Carthage College Classic on Friday and Saturday. He connected on 55.6 percent (10-for-18) of his field goal attempts in the tournament and tied for game-high honors with 20 points in the championship game.
Lake Forest started Midwest Conference play with an 84-72 triumph at Beloit College on Tuesday and Sotos finished the evening with a game-high 23 points. He shot 6-for-11 from the floor, 3-for-5 from three-point range, and 8-for-9 from the foul line on the evening.
Sotos averaged 16.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 55.2 percent from the field, 50 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.7 percent from the line on the week.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Deprtment on Thursdays.
