The volleyball team has three matches this week, including Saturday's Senior Day contest.
The first of the volleyball team's three matches is Tuesday night's non-conference contest at Alverno College. The Foresters are coming off a five-set loss to Lawrence University on Saturday and are now 8-13 this season. Alverno is 6-16 and has dropped eight straight matches. Lake Forest is 3-0 all-time against the Inferno but the team's have not played each other since 2011.
The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play Friday night against visiting Illinois College and will continue league play against Monmouth College at home on Saturday. Ilinois College enters the week 9-13 overall and 3-4 in the league while Monmouth is 6-16 overall and 1-4 in the MWC. Lake Forest has won eight in a row against the Lady Blues and had a four-match winning streak against the Fighting Scots snapped last season. Saturday's contest will be the final home match for the Foresters' four seniors.
The women's soccer team will also celebrate Senior Day this week when the Foresters host Beloit College on Wednesday. Lake Forest is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to Monmouth College on Sunday and is now 4-8-2 overall and 2-2-2 in MWC play this season. The team has won 11 in a row against Beloit, which enters the week 4-10-0 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Lake Forest will continue league play at Illinois College (3-13-0, 1-5-0 MWC) on Saturday. The Foresters are perfect in 20 all-time meetings with the Lady Blues.
The Forester men's soccer team will also travel to Illinois College on Saturday. Lake Forest edged out Monmouth 1-0 on Sunday to improve to 8-5-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the league. The Blueboys enter the week 8-6-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the MWC. The Foresters' 3-0 triumph over Illinois College last season extended their winning streak against the Blueboys.
At 6-0 and coming off a 56-28 victory at Cornell College on Saturday, the Lake Forest College football team is off to its best start since the 1938 team finished the season undefeated at 7-0. The Foresters will put their 2-0 MWC South Division record on the line against Grinnell College (1-5, 0-2 MWC South) this Saturday looking to extend their winning streak against the Pioneers to six games.
